South Shore Community Chorus
This is a community choir open to anyone in the South Shore and Riverview area. It is under the direction of Brian NeSmith, the Choral Director at East Bay High School. They meet on Monday's from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Choir Room at East Bay High School (7710 Big Bend Road, Gibsonton, Florida 33534). Master Musician
The Master Musician Program is designed to encourage talented music students to continue their progress beyond the classroom setting. This program gives students an opportunity to receive district level recognition, achieve their highest musical potential, and develop a professional portfolio which can be used as an indicator of achievement for college auditions, admissions, and scholarships. The Master Musician Program consists of two sections, a performance portfolio and the Master Musician Aptitude Test. Testing for Master Musician will be on November 7 and March 27 at Williams Middle School.
All State Honor Choirs
The All-State Choruses are highly select groups of choral students from Florida’s middle/junior high and senior high schools who are brought together for the purposes of rehearsing and performing selected music with guest conductors.
All County Honor Choirs
The Hillsborough All-County Choir is an opportunity for the top musicians from throughout the county to experience music making in a large ensemble setting with students from throughout the county. This is also a chance for these top-tier students to work with a professional director other than their own. This annual event showcases the best and brightest Hillsborough County has to offer.
Solo & Ensemble
Solo & Ensemble is a chance for students to challenge their musical abilities and perform two pieces before a judge for evaluation. Students will sing two songs in contrasting tempos and one song must be in a foreign language (classical only). There are three categories students can compete in: Classical, Music Theatre/Jazz, and Student Conducting.
